Keep NSW free of Fire Ants

Have your potted plants come from QLD to NSW?

You could be putting NSW at risk of Red Imported Fire Ants. Before potted plants are moved into NSW a certificate is required stating:

  • They have been treated with a chemical approved for fire ant control, and
  • The chemical remains effective until the potted plant arrives in NSW.

An Emergency Order has been put in place to protect NSW from Red Imported Fire Ants – with harsh penalties for people who fail to adhere to the restrictions when moving carrier materials, like potted plants, into NSW.

Know your duties and help us keep NSW fire ant free!
